Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

We also store the productivity data you choose to log: session hours, categories, locations, tasks, reflections, rewards, and related settings. This data is what powers your dashboard, analytics, and tools.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve Locus:

  • Display your dashboard, analytics, and tools
  • Sync your data across devices when signed in
  • Authenticate your identity

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Guest Mode

You can use Locus without an account. In guest mode all data is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. If you later create an account, your local data can be imported into your account.

4. Data Storage & Security

Account data is stored in a secure, hosted database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use HTTPS for all data in transit.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth — for optional sign-in. Google receives only what is necessary to authenticate you. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — for hosting and deployment.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@locusstudy.com.

7. Cookies

Locus uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of Locus after changes constitutes acceptance.
